Halloween Gift Basket Ideas

This is How To Make A Halloween Gift Basket

Try this great Halloween idea for that special someone dressed in their funny Halloween costume this Halloween, give them a Halloween gift basket. You don’t have to be creative or even artistic to do this. All it takes is some knowledge about the person, or persons, you want to surprise in this way. The basket will contain items particular to their tastes, and they will love you for it.

A great idea is to create a special basket for a couple you may be close to. This one is especially nice if the couple either has no plans for Halloween, or they don’t have enough money to do anything special. You can provide them a very unique Halloween gift basket that will give them a lovely way to spend the evening. For this one, you will need a rather large basket. Start with the dinner. Choose food that you know they like. This can be either 2 nice steaks, bag of salad, and fixings for baked potatoes. Or it can be a gift certificate for pizza delivery. Use your own judgment. Add a six pack of soda, some Halloween cupcakes or cookies for dessert, a couple of scary movies that you know they want to see, and maybe some microwave popcorn to enjoy with the movie. This will be a much appreciated gift.

Another great fun Halloween gift basket idea is one for friend of yours who enjoys reading. Gather several scary paperback books, along with a small cozy stadium blanket, a beverage of choice, glass or cup, and, of course, Halloween munchies. These can include candy, along with some salted snack mix. This will provide a quiet and relaxing Halloween night. It might also provide a few delicious chills up the back.

Of course children also really enjoy gifts at Halloween even if they do get all that candy by trick or treating. It is for that reason that you may want to limit the candy in this particular Halloween gift basket. You will need to shop for age appropriate toys to include. These should also be run by the parents of the child before purchasing them to make sure your ideas are going to be alright with them.

And you don’t want to forget the older people in your life, such as parents and grandparents. They will enjoy receiving a gift basket, too. The items selected for these baskets will depend on any dietary or other restrictions. Again, shop with what you know about the person firmly planted in your mind. If you don’t have parents or grandparents of your own, try contacting a local home for the aged. A lot of the people there are also without family to treat them on special days. They would love to receive a Halloween gift basket.

The best thing to remember is that you are going to be putting smiles on faces with your thoughtfulness. You really do not need to spend a lot of money on your Halloween gift basket just be funny and creative - and remember your party costume!

Halloween Lights to go with your Costumes

Just What Halloween Lights Should You Get?

Many of us choose to have Halloween lights for the celebration at this time of the year. They work well to show off your funny Halloween costume ideas. You can of course choose to buy your lights, however you can also just as easily make your own. These homemade lights are called luminaries. They can give a spooky and eerie shadow that just can not compare to string lights. Making these lights can become an annual family activity, and also help the entire neighborhood look more festive.

Lights can be made from many different types of material, but a lot of people choose tin cans as their base. For this project you will need tin cans, a hammer, nails, cookie cutters, paper, pencils or markers, tape, sand, and tea light candles. Once you have gathered all of your supplies, the fun of making your own Halloween lights can begin.

Make sure that all of the cans are clean. Wash and dry them thoroughly. You will begin by tracing the inside of the cookie cutters with the pencil. Place it on the paper to make a template. When you have all the pictures you want to use, you can proceed to the next step. Choose one of the templates and wrap it around a can, using tape to secure it in place. You need to be sure that the shape you traced is on the outside facing you. Punch holes around the shape on the paper by using the hammer and a nail.

You can choose to make a single design for all of the cans, such as a jack-o-lantern face, or use many different Halloween designs. It is totally up to you and your creativity. Whether you choose a uniform look or a mix and match appearance, the over all effect is amazing.

The next step in making these special Halloween lights is putting the sand in the bottom of each can. The reason for doing this is to ensure that the can does not tip over. Be careful not to cover the holes for your design. Set a tea light candle in the middle of each can on top of the sand. Now, you are ready to line your driveway, sidewalk, or the edge of your lawn with the cans.

At Halloween time, as soon as it starts to get dark, light all of your candles. This causes a rather spooky effect, and nearly everyone loves it. In fact, some of your neighbors may want to get together with you in making some lights for their own homes. This looks especially nice if your immediate neighbors also choose to make their own Halloween lights to set up. Anyone entering your street will be enchanted by the glow coming from all of these super Halloween lights. Your neighborhood could well become the talk of the town especially with everyone dressed in funny Halloween costumes too.

Halloween Party Ideas Block Party

As summer begins to slip away into autumn many of America?s neighborhoods are beginning to realize that the summer block party that has been rescheduled twice already is just not going to happen before schools starts. Are they canceling the chance for neighbors to build new friendships and strengthen their own community? No way! America is turning the summer block party into a Halloween block party.

Halloween block parties are becoming a tradition in many American towns and cities. The summer months can be difficult to plan activities with larger numbers of people; with summer vacations and activities getting in the way. Many communities are taking the approach of relaxing over the summer and planning that neighborhood party around Halloween.

There are a variety of themes for a Halloween block party. Get together with your neighbors and find one that suits your own community. It is a good idea to keep all ages groups in mind while picking a theme. Also realize that some neighbors may be more likely to participate in a Harvest type party rather than a Halloween party for religious beliefs. Sometimes it is all in the wording. So try not to leave anyone out while planning your block party. Below are some ideas that have worked well for many communities across America.

Trunk or Treat

For communities that really don?t have blocks but acres in between them trunk or treat is a fabulous idea. First of all, the community agrees upon a place and time to meet. Usually this occurs in a parking lot, a park or a school yard - this really depends on what your community has available. Each family decorates their vehicle and passes out goodies and candy from the trunk of their car. Most parties include costumes and games.

Haunted House

The haunted house theme is great for a community that loves to get involved and have some fun with their homes. Besides decorating their yards, porches and houses many families incorporate Halloween music and scary lighting such as strobe lights or colored lights. Another fun option is a fog machine. Some homes have included a warning on the lawn so that little ones do not get too scared. At the end of the night it is fun to have a vote and prizes for the scariest, grossest or even the most beautiful haunted house.

Halloween garage Party

Why not keep the party at one location. It may be easier for your neighborhood to stay at one location if there are many elderly or small children. If that is the case then don?t give up on celebrating. Use the garage of one neighborhood home and have everybody participate by donating or loaning Halloween decorations. Decorating the garage and getting it ready for the party is a great way for older children and teens to get to know each other. Adults can participate by bringing food for a potluck. Halloween is a great time to have a chili cooking contest or a corn bread bake off. Add some scary music and lighting and along with a few games and prizes and you have just started a neighborhood tradition for years to come.

Whether you live in the country, city or by the sea pick one of the themes we have shared or find a theme that fits perfect for your neighborhood community. You can never go wrong by striking up new friendships and rekindling the old ones. Happy Halloween America!

Traditional mail, email, and social networking sites to mention a few - You could even hand deliver your invitations in a costume. However involved you decide to be in the delivery of your Halloween party invitation, make sure that you are considering your guest list and choosing a delivery that each guest can easily receive.

The information to be included in your Halloween party invitation is the same if you are sending a hard copy Halloween party invitation or an electronic Halloween party invitation.

Your Halloween party invitation should include:

Date of the party including the year
Time of the party; start and ending
Party location ? including street address and city
Contact phone number or email for directions
Name of the host(s)/ or parent(s) giving the party
Type of food being served snacks/light appetizers, dinner, drinks
General theme of the party
Appropriate attire. Come in costume or no costume
Request to bring something: a pumpkin for a carving party
RSVP - Provide a specific contact number or email for guests to RSVP. Also include a date to RSVP by.

Clear communication is key when sending invitations of any kind. Your invitation is giving your guests a peak of what is to come. It should reflect your theme and mood you are intending for your party. If there are activities such as a costume party or a pumpkin carving contest make sure to include that information so that your guests can be prepared. Also include if you are providing snacks, drinks, dinner, or even just dessert for your guests. Be clear if you are expecting your guests to bring something like a pumpkin or a pot luck dish. Finally, ask guests to RSVP by a specific date. Usually ask at least one week before your party. This will help you plan for each guest and your party will run much smoother.

By following these simple steps to creating your Halloween party invitation you are on your way to a Spooktacular Halloween Party. Trick or Treat.
