Sadly, these hard financial times have made a lot of people to think twice before you spend too much on trivial things. Thus, when it comes to Halloween costumes on a budget, just what are your possibilities? Well, you can easily think of some fun Halloween costumes which won't cost the Earth by having a look the things you already have in your home. There are doubtless varied items of clothes and niknaks that may be modified to act as Halloween costume props. All that you need to do is to be rather daring and creative with your ideas. Have a look in your closets and see what you can use from garments you do not truly wear often any more, and home goods that you can use in your outfit.
For example, how about a straightforward Jedi outfit from the Star Wars films? An old martial arts outfit, a wide belt, some black boots and a brown robe is everything you actually need. You could then add a torch or a replica lightsaber prop. Got a pin-stripe suit and some hi-tops? You may be the tenth Doctor Who! Also, if you are able to come up with the basis of a Halloween costume from things which you already have at your home, then you can enlarge this stuff with a few inexpensive extras from the best Halloween outlets around. There are a number of discount Halloween supplies on the market that may easily be integrated into a Halloween costume, meaning that you can also join in with the Halloween fun without costing yourself a tasty sum,
Have a look about at the Halloween costumes which are on special discount offer via online outlets and also regular brick shops. Even if you do not discover the right costume for you, you can be able to find plenty of inspiration for the best Halloween costume on a budget, and then start putting your outfit together from things you have already. Then add a few affordable extra items and you're good to go. A memorable Halloween costume is equally just as much about the concept as it is the actual creation. So think about it, be wild and creative and discover the great things you can imagine for Halloween costumes on a budget.

Heading to a Halloween party on October 31st? Do you want to get yourself done up as a terrifying zombie for your costume this year? Awesome! here are some tips on getting the right zombie costume together easily, quickly and cheaply. You will need to pay visits to the thrift or charity shop as well as a good party goods and Halloween costumes retailer either online or in the flesh.
Clothes:
The Zombie outfit is easy to create. It is best to use old clothes or clothes you have bought cheaply especially for the costume. Pale colours for shirts are a good idea, as these can be ripped and bloodied easily. If you use darker coloured garments then any gore effects you use won't show up as well. For example, a white t shirt daubed with gore and tears, over a black t-shirt worn underneath it, would look great, with the black fabric under the white shirt further accenting the 'wounds'. When it comes to trousers and footwear, think battered and gnarled.
Damage the garments a little, and also daub them with blood and gore effects. These blood and gore effects are easy to make at home with corn syrup and food colouring, but a better idea for keeping your effects looking good on garments is to use paint. Once you have the rips you want, paint dark red mess around the 'wounds' on the fabric and then decorate further with red food colour and further splashes of paint. This creates a good, nasty looking mess that won't melt or run while you're partying!
Make-up:
Zombie make-up is one of the easiest types of special effects make-ups to create. At the very basic level, you want dark circles under your eyes and a pale, deathly hue to your skin. A green tint works well to suggest rotting and decomposition. This can easily be achieved with greasepaint from a party retailer, then decorated with a little fake blood around the mouth area. If you want to get a bit more technical, get some make-up latex from your party retailer and follow the next steps:
On bare skin, freshly washed and dried, apply a small amount of liquid latex to the desired area (Be sure to follow all instructions on the packaging). Two main wounds work well on a zombie make-up, and stop things looking too cluttered. Shape the latex into the required 'wound' shapes and let them dry. Once dry, apply another level to each one and repeat the process until there are raised 'wounds' that look suitably grisly.
Next, apply whatever colour of greasepaint you want to the face, covering evenly and avoiding the eyes. Over the latex 'wounds', gently apply the colour with a sponge until covered, but take care not to damage your 'wound' make-up.
Next step for your Halloween zombie costume is to create dark circles around and under the eyes with greasepaint or other safe make-up. The final step off this zombie make-up is then to decorate the 'wounds' themselves. Take a paintbrush and paint blood and gore colours onto the latex wounds. These can then be highlighted with fake blood drops or the corn syrup/food colouring mixture. Don't use much- just enough for it to look good!
There you go. Zombie costume complete. Now all you need to get used to is crying out "Braaaaaaaaaaiiiiinnnssss!"

This is How To Make A Halloween Gift Basket
Try this great Halloween idea for that special someone dressed in their funny Halloween costume this Halloween, give them a Halloween gift basket. You don’t have to be creative or even artistic to do this. All it takes is some knowledge about the person, or persons, you want to surprise in this way. The basket will contain items particular to their tastes, and they will love you for it.
A great idea is to create a special basket for a couple you may be close to. This one is especially nice if the couple either has no plans for Halloween, or they don’t have enough money to do anything special. You can provide them a very unique Halloween gift basket that will give them a lovely way to spend the evening. For this one, you will need a rather large basket. Start with the dinner. Choose food that you know they like. This can be either 2 nice steaks, bag of salad, and fixings for baked potatoes. Or it can be a gift certificate for pizza delivery. Use your own judgment. Add a six pack of soda, some Halloween cupcakes or cookies for dessert, a couple of scary movies that you know they want to see, and maybe some microwave popcorn to enjoy with the movie. This will be a much appreciated gift.
Another great fun Halloween gift basket idea is one for friend of yours who enjoys reading. Gather several scary paperback books, along with a small cozy stadium blanket, a beverage of choice, glass or cup, and, of course, Halloween munchies. These can include candy, along with some salted snack mix. This will provide a quiet and relaxing Halloween night. It might also provide a few delicious chills up the back.
Of course children also really enjoy gifts at Halloween even if they do get all that candy by trick or treating. It is for that reason that you may want to limit the candy in this particular Halloween gift basket. You will need to shop for age appropriate toys to include. These should also be run by the parents of the child before purchasing them to make sure your ideas are going to be alright with them.
And you don’t want to forget the older people in your life, such as parents and grandparents. They will enjoy receiving a gift basket, too. The items selected for these baskets will depend on any dietary or other restrictions. Again, shop with what you know about the person firmly planted in your mind. If you don’t have parents or grandparents of your own, try contacting a local home for the aged. A lot of the people there are also without family to treat them on special days. They would love to receive a Halloween gift basket.
The best thing to remember is that you are going to be putting smiles on faces with your thoughtfulness. You really do not need to spend a lot of money on your Halloween gift basket just be funny and creative - and remember your party costume!

Halloween Wigs
It is so easy to create your own Halloween wigs. All you need are some basic items and your imagination to make any style of wig your want. Of course, it depends on the costume you are wearing, and the effect you want to achieve. But you are only limited by your own creativity.
The basics for making your own wig are actually quite simple. You will need a baseball cap, knitted hat, pantyhose, or any other sort of hat that will cover your own hair. Add to this some yarn in any color you choose for your particular wig, fabric glue, scissors, a small cup, and a beach ball or basket ball. You may also require a needle and thread for some of the wigs, if you need to sew the yarn to a knitted cap.
Once you have assembled your supplies, you can begin making your Halloween wigs. Take the cup and glue it to the base of the ball. Use this as a stand for your cap. You now have your head ready to work with. Place your cap on the ball and get ready for a lot of fun.
Cut the yarn into the lengths you want your wig hair to be. You can make short hair, or very long hair. The choice is totally up to you. Next, make a thin line of glue where you want the part to be. You can also make a circle of glue. For a split colored wig, make a line with the glue halfway around your head. Attach the yarn one piece at a time to the glue until the entire ball is covered as you would like it. If you are working on the top, you move the yarn to one side or the other as needed. You may just tie it up to get to the next layer. If using a knit cap you will need to sew the yarn to it instead of using the glue. It sews the same way. Now, you are almost done with the first of your Halloween wigs.
You just need to let the glue dry and you have your very own wig! After the glue dries, you can fix it into any style you like. You may want it to be straight and hanging down, put into ponytails, or just anyway that you would like to show off your own homemade wig. It is unwise to use your own head as a base for your Halloween wigs model. You should always glue the yarn onto a fake model as the glue will be very hard to get out of your real hair!

How to Make a Halloween Skeleton
There are many scary things at Halloween, how about the Halloween skeleton costumes? It seems that many people, both young and old, are attracted to the skeleton. Just the thought of bones is what scares most people. Therefore, at Halloween time many of costumes that are seen running around town has at least part of a skeleton attached to it.
It is very easy to make your own skeleton costume. Most people buy costumes year after year, but with the rising costs these days, if you do have the spare time it is cheaper to take a few minutes of that time and make your own. It only takes a few supplies and some imagination to fashion your very own designer Halloween skeleton costume. Doing it this way is also more fun than just buying it off the rack knowing you have construvted it yourself.
You can take any black garment you may have laying around and use that as your starting point. This can be a shirt, blouse, t- shirt or a sweatshirt. Whatever plain black shirt you have should work. If you don’t have a black one, navy blue work will work just as well. You can make a full skeleton costume by adding a pair of black pants, such as sweat pants. Pieces of cardboard and white chalk, or fabric chalk, are other supplies you will need.
Once you have your supplies assembled, you can get started making your Halloween skeleton costume. Cut the cardboard to fit inside the arms of the shirt, if you have chosen a long sleeved one. Another piece of cardboard should be cut to fit inside the chest of the shirt. Once the cardboard is inside the shirt, lay it on a flat surface. Use your white chalk or fabric chalk to draw bones on the shirt. If you happen to be doing this for a child, let this be a learning experience by explaining what bones go where as you are drawing them. Even if you aren’t an artist, this will still be fun.
The bones you will want to be sure are there include the neck bones, back bones, ribs, and possibly the hip bones. You can add gloves to the costume if you want, and draw in finger bones. The design for your Halloween skeleton is limited only by your imagination.
Not only is this costume rather spooky, but it can be made on the spur of the moment. It is one that can be worn for Trick or Treating, or to an adult party. So, it is quite versatile. To top off the costume, you have the option of either painting your face white, or wearing a simple white mask.
However you choose to make your costume look, it will be inexpensive, and it will be just the right size. That’s even more of a reason to create your own Halloween skeleton costume. However also have a look at the Halloween costume ideas and bargain offers here.
